Biography

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Salahaddin University-Erbil in 2002, graduating among the top ten students in the Department of Chemistry. Following graduation, I worked as an administrative staff member in the same department at the College of Science for over two years. In 2006, I completed my Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry. Throughout my academic career, I have taught a range of practical courses across various chemistry laboratories. In 2009, I began my Ph.D. studies at Salahaddin University-Erbil and successfully completed the program in 2013. I am currently a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry.

 

Research Interest

Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Food Analysis, Nano-chemistry, and Environmental Analysis. My work focuses on the development and validation of advanced spectrophotometric, fluorometric, and chemiluminescent techniques for detecting trace levels of substances such as heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, and food additives. A core aspect of my research involves promoting green analytical chemistry through the use of miniaturized, environmentally friendly approaches, including cloud point extraction, dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction, and paper-based analytical devices. I also actively contribute to the synthesis and application of doped carbon dots and nanocomposites for targeted drug delivery, antimicrobial therapies, and environmental cleanup. To ensure method robustness, I integrate statistical and chemometric tools that enhance analytical reliability, sensitivity, and sustainability.

Teaching

I have taught a broad array of chemistry courses, including Fundamentals of Analytical Chemistry, General Chemistry,  Analytical Chemistry, and Separation Techniques.
